Hi friends- Just wanted to check in with you and share this image I created. Which by the way, I’m going to start making more of and sharing in my Instagram feed if you’d like to follow along!
You’d be so proud, I’ve been keeping good on my goal to catch up on reading all the books I’ve been hoarding. Currently I’m reading this book called “Start Something That Matters”, and let me tell you! – it’s speaking directly to my heart. The idea of having a “purpose” has always carried a certain amount of weight with me. It’s encouraging to know that we all struggle from time to time with finding what our true calling and purpose is, and how that manifests itself in our lives. We're never alone in this.
I came across this quote by Abraham Lincoln and it spoke to where I am right now, both professionally and personally. My trust is always in the Lord, but I also believe that He’s given us the brains, means and responsibility to do our part with the talents and opportunities He’s provided.
So with that in mind, here’s some things I’ve been up to lately with the intention of building towards the future:
1. Reading this book like I mentioned. Currently a portion of all sales are donated to ministries within my local church, but it’s in my heart to do more. Hoping this book can give insight into working with larger organizations.
2. Just signed up to take one of Bri Emery’s classes! I feel nervous, anxious and pretty much all around excited! Cannot wait to meet her and learn from one of the best in business.
3. It goes without saying that creating a home and work space that is both comfy, lovely and functional can make all the difference in what I produce and how I feel. And since my workspace is in my home, it’s important for me to have a workspace that fuels my creativity, not stifles it. Ikea here I come!
4. Instead of listening to music on my daily commute to and from my day job, I’ve carved out this hour to listening to these 2 podcasts: After the Jump and Living with Intention. After the Jump has an archive of I think 60+ podcast so I’ve got plenty of catching up to do.
If you have any other favorite books or podcast, or thoughts please share them in the comments!
